What makes a calling script work

A few principles apply to every script:

• Open with who and why, fast. State who's calling and the reason in the first line, before the caller loses patience.
• One clear goal per call. Each script should aim at a single outcome — book, confirm, qualify, remind, collect a promise.
• Keep it conversational. Short sentences, natural phrasing, room for the caller to respond and interrupt.
• Handle the common branches. Plan for "yes," "no," "not now," and "who is this?" — not just the happy path.
• Know when to hand off. Build in a clean transfer to a human for anything the agent shouldn't handle.
